Personal Life :
Thamarai (Tamarai) is a well known & famous tamil poet & lyrics writer who is only writing in Tamil. Her native is Coimbatore. She graduated in mechanical engineering and worked nearly six years in Coimbatore, Tamilnadu, India. She wanted to study journalism, but the only choices were medicine and engineering, and she chose the latter to avoid the former. She, then, worked for seven years doing quality control in the fabrication division of a pressure vessels company, Universal Heat Exchangers Limited, Coimbatore – a distaff island amidst a sea of men. She was the first woman trained at the Welding Research Institute, Trichy.During the final year of college, she was selected as student reporter for Anandha Vikatan.She hates the mad scramble for English education that is turning Tamils into little brown sahibs.
Career :
Vaseegara was the first song she wrote for the film, in 2000, and her first draft was approved.After Minnale, the trio, composed of director Gautham Menon and music director Harris Jayaraj teamed up several times again (Kaakha Kaakha, Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu, Pachaikili Muthucharam & Vaaranam Aayiram) and emerged as one the of the successful collaborations in the film field, until the break-up between Menon and Jayaraj happened. Since then, she is teaming up with A. R. Rahman, who replaced Jayaraj. Apart from Rahman, Jayaraj and Menon, Thamarai also worked together with other popular and noted film personalities, including music directors Yuvan Shankar Raja (Nandha, Pudhukottayilirundhu Saravanan, Bose, Perazhagan, Kanda Naal Mudhal & Kannamoochi Yenada), James Vasanthan (Subramaniyapuram& Pasanga) and directors Bala, A. R. Murugadoss, V. Priya and Sasikumar.She has various upcoming movies and these will be updated now and then in our blog.
